Panos Arvanitakis is a freelance photographer and filmmaker / cinematographer living in Thessaloniki, Greece.
His influences came from many sources: his dad’s photographs and super8 films, the photographer Dimitris Triantafyllou who introduced him to what is called personal, intimate and diaristic photography, a close friend and the magic world of cinema.
He studied analog photography from his father’s books of “Time Life” publications and he also took several courses in Stereosis photography lab. He participated in two workshops with the well-known photographers Anders Petersen and Jacob Aue Sobol who helped him find his personal language in photography.
His photography work has been exhibited (both group and solo) in several galleries in Thessaloniki and “Home”, a group photo project, travelled in a photo festival in Sydney.
He also attended a 2 year filmmaking course and several seminars for cinema and in 2013 he created his own film production company.
He is an experienced video camera operator.
He created two short fiction films that were selected by the international short film festivals of Tangier and Aix-En-Provence, documentaries and several commercial videos for the tourism industry.
